3Com905 and IRQ problem

Hi,

I have installed a ethernet board 3com905B-TXNM on an
ASUS P3B-F motherboard. When I boot under Win98 there
is no problem, the board is well recognised and works
fine.

When I boot under RedHat 6.0 there is a trouble: the
board is recognized , but the IRQ is set to 0:

From dmesg:

eth0: 3Com 3c905B Cyclone 100baseTx at 0xd000, 00:50:04:a8:ff:3e, IRQ 0
*** Warning: IRQ 0 is unlikely to work! ***

when I try to set up the interface with ifconfig eth0 up,
I get the message:

SIOCSIFFLAGS: Ressource temporarly not aviable

I tried in the BIOS setup to force to IRQ 11 the PCI slot
where the board is installed, it didn't solve the problem.

Can anyone help me ? Thanks.

Regards

			Gilberto.

Did you try disable the PNP mode at DOS mode by using "3c9x5cfg". Then note
down the I/O port and IRQ. And set the same at LINUX.
