Hi, I have a Soundblaster PCI 128 sound card installed on my PC running under RedHat 6.1. When I use sndconfig to configure the sound card, I get: A PCI sound card was found in your system. The details are: Model: Ensoniq|ES1371 [AudioPCI-97] Then: A sound sample will now be played to determine if your sound card has been correctly configured. But ... nothing happened ! the prompt is blocked. I typed ctrl+c to stop sndconfig. Looking into /etc/conf.modules, I read: alias sound es1371 Well, now rebooting the PC, I get: . . . Loading sound module [ok] . . . From dmesg, I get: es1371: version v0.13 time 19:57:53 Oct 25 1999 es1371: found adapter at io 0xb800 irq 5 es1371: features: joystick 0x0 es1371: codec vendor revision 0 es1371: codec features none es1371: stereo enhancement: no 3D stereo enhancement At this point, no error seems to be occured, but it still doesn't work, when trying: cat somefile.au > /dev/audio nothing happens, it blocks. Can anyone help me Thanks. Regards. type in cat /proc/interrupts and see if you have any conflicts.
