*All* telebit V.32 modems previous to the WorldBlazer seem to be
somewhat flakey on V.32.  My experince with them verifies this.  The
Merit folks evaluated them some time back and decided not to use them
because they were one of the worst for interoperability.  But WBs seems
to work great.

This is more likely congestion in the Merit SCP/PCP connections.  Until
yesterday we were on an SCP, and on bad days got horrid horrid
throughput going through them.  I get the distinct impression that
Merit would like to trash all the SCP/PCPs, but until the individual
affiliates (like us :-)) give them up, they're stuck.

What am I, the Merit apologist?  :-)
