They probably will, eventually. But this process takes time. Parts
suppiers spend months with detailed proposals and revisions to carmakers.
This is one of the reasons it took the Japanese so long to start using
domestic parts in their transplant vehicles; it's not an overnight
process.

If they dashes were the same, no sweat. But they're not. And they consist
of a hundred or so smaller components, some of which are unique to GM
vehicles.
