Sounds like more thinking inside the box.  You just throw the specs at someone,
and say, you can have a lucrative contract if you can make this for our car, plus
a bag of money.  Do they have to be identical to the current GM instrument
panels? Of course not. They just have to have the right plug on the end and the
proper mounting brackets and size  We're only talking about gauge packages,
lights and speedos here aren't we? We're not talking about the entire dashboard?
Since all instrument panels are digital, even if the gauges are analog, it
shouldn't be all THAT difficult. Then again, I haven't looked at a 1998 GM
product, they might have some fancy smancy crap like the gear shift indicator in
the instrument panel. Heck, that's still digitally controlled.
