First, let me say that unless you know the agreement, the media has always been bias against unions. This is reasonable. Second, management agreed to that as a strategy to find out what maximum production would be, then make a change, as you have seen. The four hours were actually working an eight hour workload in four hours which I believe the union shouldn't allow for health reasons, such as strains and sprains, or injuries through rushing. Ask yourself, "what is my potential at max?" and "am I doing it?" I firmly believe, as Bible taught that a person is worthy of their wages, If a man is hungry, let him work with his hands. The fall of the world society is two wage earners to a family, and discontent. If those workers were not ALLOWED to leave by management, they would have been fired for leaving their workplace without permission. Before I make any assumption, I'd talk personally with a worker there. I have known GM to be ruthless, ask ther salary workers who have been replaced by contract people, or eliminated all together. Do a search on the stock quote area and check out the bonuses the top executives have been giving themselves at the expense of those under them. How would you like to make $400000 in one day on options?
