I was wondering, in particular, what lies behind the assertion that
some employees at Flint get 8 hours pay for 4 hours work. Some news
accounts here in Maryland have suggested that one of the reasons for the
strike is that the company wants these employees to work a full 8-hour
day without getting overtime.

This sounds reasonable enough--so reasonable that I have a hard time
believing that the unionsis unwilling to agree to this condition. Could
the UAW be silly enough to insist on this type of featherbedding? What
is the union's side of this story?

	Thanks

	Jim
