That's a _huge_ amount of money for a correspondance course, isn't it? First of all, C++ is just one language, it can be picked up by anyone with a good book and a knowledge of programming in general. If you need instruction in programming in general, take a university class. A single class at a good state university is less than $300, and there you get a living person. For the kind of money you're talking, an introductory programming course at a state university in your area or an object oriented programming course would seem a much better deal. In addition, many entry level programming courses are now taught in C++, so you learn both general programming and C++/object oriented programming at the same time. That this class is "in Windows" also makes me wary. C++ is not specific to any operating system, and it shouldn't be learned that way. You may need to use libraries specific to your operating system when doing real programming, but that's not C++. My $0.02. --Paul
