And, when a person registers *shareware*, they are usually asked not
to distribute the registered version (the one sent to them after they
register). Some programs even have a way to request the program to
create an unregistered version for sharing, or simply revert to being
unregistered when fired up on a new system.

Get creative. He owns that copy of the program, the shareware nag
screen should not show up.
