Oh, that's how it's *supposed* to work in E-ZPass land.  But I've heard
far too many (verifiable) stories of people getting violation notices
with large fines for cars registered on the account with working
transponders properly mounted, that took weeks of wading through
bureaucracy to correct.  Adding a rental car company and its collection
agency into the communication chain would make this far worse.
