Sorry - this was sent earlier without the message. -------------------------------------------------------- Hello there. If this is an inappropriate group to post in, I apologize. I am doing a university business course, and we are required to do a project involving a business proposal. Our group decided to "create" a business that would also benefit others. The idea involves offering products for people with illnesses, with the hope of helping people feel better inside by helping them look better on the outside, and generally make things a bit easier. Some of the products might include: specialized makeup and other skin care products (for skin conditions or surgical scars) wigs and scarves (for clients undergoing chemotherapy) aromatherapy products specialized bras and breast forms (used after breast cancer surgery) MedicAlert jewelry toys (for example, scented aromatherapy dolls) customized clothing (designed for use in hospital or at home, instead of hospital gowns or sleepwear - specially fitted to accommodate tubes, dressings, or other barriers associated with medical conditions, and would also be useful for people in wheelchairs) The range of products offered may be increased to include specialized clothing for babies, especially those born prematurely. "Preemie" clothing, for example, would be available in very small sizes, and could accommodate medical tubes and other medical equipment. They would also allow for examining or caring for the baby with minimum disturbance or removal of the baby's clothing. We are required to find out if a possible market exists for such a business, through interviews in person or via email. We thought it would be a good idea to ask for volunteers through related newsgroups. The questions would concern the need for this product, possible price ranges, how we could get these products to customers (distribution) and how we could advertise (promotion). We need to interview people who would be potential customers - people who have or have had illnesses such as cancer, or family members or friends of people with illnesses - anyone who would benefit directly from this type of business. Even people who counsel or medically treat others with illnesses could be interviewed. I realize that this request may seem tacky, insensitive, or just inappropriate, but we don't mean to offend anyone. That's why I'm posting to some general and specific newsgroups, in hope of finding people who don't mind answering these questions for us. Please remember that this is only an assignment - we are not actually starting a business or trying to sell anything to anyone. Any information you provide would be seen by myself, my three class partners, and our instructor. If you could help us out, please email me at adenine@morgan.ucs.mun.ca and I will email you a list of questions to answer for us. Your help would be very much appreciated.
