In one sense they have exhibited greater intelligence because they
used their ability to enter a field where they can MAKE MONEY FASTER.
Someone who is allegedly intelligent but does not abide by the
standard of the popular culture which measures everything in dollar
signs by using their intelligence to MAKE MONEY FAST thereby displays
their lack of extreme intelligence.

Most of them ARE corporate serfs. Look at what has happened to the
concept of a 40-hour work week for engineering "professionals" under
the thumb of the corporate demons. The banner of "professionalism"
and the nuances of labor law are used to manipulate them into extended
hours of unpaid labor which are expected of them, with failure to
participate turning into job and income loss, if not career
destruction.

If a doctor works extended hours to serve his patients, he generally
bills them for that added time. So does a lawyer. Salespeople sell
more, thereby earning higher commissions. Scientists and engineers
get ... to keep their jobs.

So who is the most intelligent?
