The New York Times never had anything on this. It probably
happened too late for the Saturday early edition, which we get
in Washington, but you'd think that even if they put something
about it in the late edition, they'd still have another story on
Sunday, perhaps augmented with comments from experts on meteors.
The Times is seasonally heavy with advertising, so they need
those human-interest stories to fill out the pages! 

I can e-mail to anybody who is interested my previously posted
articles (about 300 lines) about how the media handled another
spectacular astronomical event, the huge fireball of 1972 that
was seen over the Rocky Mountains.
