MACEDONIAN INFORMATION AND LIAISON SERVICE

ESTABLISHED!

For the first time to our long history, a professional
and multi-purpose Macedonian Information and Liaison
Service (M.I.L.S.) has been established at the core of
world economic and political decision- making - Brussels,
Belgium, the seat of united Europe and NATO.

"Such a dramatic venture will have a huge impact in
the state of affairs concerning Macedonia, and
particularly in the European and North American
theatres," said the Director of the Ilinden Foundation,
Mr. Simon Tanevski. "However, this positive development
would not have been possible were it not for the generous
support of the Macedonians in every state of Australia,"
continued Mr. Tanevski; "The Australian- Macedonian
Society and the Ilinden Foundation secured the services
of Richard Farmer, well known journalist and lobbyist,
earlier this year, to help promote the Macedonian cause
to the wider community for their help, and they responded
magnificently!" he said.

M.I.L.S. is a Non Govermental and Non Profit Organization,
will be administered by the A.M.S. Inc., and
financially supported by the Ilinden Foundation It will
have in fact two outlets, with a Skopje office being
established to provide up to date information to the
Brussels office for world-wide distribution. The
Macedonian Information and Liaison Service will be headed
by a Director, Dr. Ljupco Naumovski who will be based in
Brussels, and be supported by several office staff and
volunteers. Dr. Naumovski, a qualified international
lawyer and activist and a former academic and diplomat,
is best known for his courageous sole intervention at the
Moscow CSCE meeting last year, when he presented a fiery
speech to the pletenery session condemning Greek,
Bulgarian, Albanian and Serbian policies on the
Macedonian issue, despite formal diplomatic objections.
Volunteers in the Brussels office will be Saso Trajcevski
Uzunov, a journalist from Australian Macedonian origin,
other capable Macedonians and non-Macedonian
professionals. They will be headed by the President of
the Macedonian Community in Brussels, Mr. Goce Vidovski.
The Manager of the Skopje office will be the young
journalist and writer, Saso Ordanoski.

The Macedonian Information and Liaison Service will
have three major functions:

 - wide distribution of Macedonian "news" in a number of
fields through an international media network, including
electronic media.

 - liaison with the lobbying of important government
representatives, diplomats, organisations and
individuals, in relation to vital Macedonian issues and
interests.

 - providing a resource of information materials for
distribution to interested parties.

The office has been established since early September,
and it is located only 10 minutes from the heart of
Brussels, in a residence that is christened "Macedonia
House!" . Already, very sophisticated communications
systems have been established, including modern computer,
satellite telephone and telefax technology with easy
international access, so that it can compete favourably
with best organised opponents.
