I am really frightened. I understand I belong to the bad guys since I
can't "defend myself" like you do, but I am getting the idea: I will
purchase your lovely death machines that kill so efficiently and then
I will be a good guy too. Maybe I will even join the church, become
a weapon engineer... so that I will be able to fully share in the pride
the next time the defence industry displays its
supranatural power over human life-and-death to the unbelievers.

I have killed your brother and your uncle. You *should* be extremely
grateful to me, 'cause I could have killed your father, your mother and
your other brother too. I am sure you *will*, once you see the light.
Actually, the Iraki people fought the war against Iran for the pride
of the US flag. The proof of this was given in 1987 when Iran asked
the US to recognize the responsibility of Iraq in starting this war.
The US response demonstrated that it felt this war had been started
by Iran when it took the hostages of the Tehran (US) embassy.
Since the Iraqi people have (obviously) been fighting GWII for the
pride of the same US flag (thanks to the repeated complicity of Saddam
Hussein) you could as well collect the two casualty figures.
[1] That Hussein is eliminated remains to be demonstrated. Which is
not to say that I sustain him, but that your claim of justifying
the war by his elimination is not warranted (as of today). One
may expect that the war industry will try to find a
way to save a guy that has proved so useful to it in the past.
Now that he is deprived of (most of) his army, to have him stay
in power would be doubly useful:
a - it would allow going on with dismissing the destruction of
Irak, and the killing of so many persons, by putting all the
responsibility on Saddam Hussein.
b - it would "justify" huge armaments contracts with the
neighboring and even distant countries. The public opinions
are so mesmerized that they might be led to confuse the
danger of military stockpiles with that of the individual SH,
if the trick is pulled right. The demonized SH, even defeated,
is very valuable capital to the US/F/etc war industry's PR.
But it will be a close thing, since the people of Irak might
want to get rid of the traitor.
[2] The cost of this advertising show for super-high-tech weapons
is to the human race before being to the Iraqi people.
The concept of human race as a community seems alien to you.
[3] Disclaimer: my use of country names ('US', 'Iran', 'Iraq') as
responsibility holders is a shorthand for referring to their
governments and fanatics, and does not imply I hold
all the nationals responsible.
