Find out which types of computers they will come into contact with in school. It is my feeling that Mac is losing ground to WINOWS95 et. al. A computer without the right software is just an ugly piece of modern sculpture. Investigate a range of software to see which platform has the most software of the type you are interested in. Finally, I tend to try to ride the following edge, rather than the leading edge for hardware. First, you save a lot of money if you don't buy this month's hot stuff. Second, I'd just as soon let other people work the bugs out of the software/hardware before I put up with the hassle. -- David Hole dhole@netusa1.net
