Some examples: does a reading of Keats's >"Ode to a Nightingale" (New Criticism); John Updike (Structuralism); >Hawthorne (Semiotics); Shakespeare (psychoanalytic); Dickinson >(deconstruction); Milton (Marxist) etcetera...24 >essays...paperback...uncluttered by jargon. Good luck. Sounds good, but what we really need is a revised edition of _The Pooh Perplex_ for the 1990s! (For those of you unfamiliar with that great work, it purports to be a college-course "casebook" on _Winnie the Pooh_ with a Freudian analysis by "Dr. Karl Anschauung," a Christian-Humanist analysis by "Cyrus Jackson Lee Culpepper," a Marxist analysis, etc. etc., each followed by totally ridiculous "questions for further discussion" and "class projects" -- all actually written by Frederick C. Crews and all hilarious satire. But he wrote it in the 1960s before post-structuralism, feminist theory, New Historicism, etc., came onto the scene, so unfortunately it doesn't contain parodies any of those critical schools.) -- Bruce Tindall, Core Testing Mgr., SAS Institute Inc., Cary, N.C. 27513
