Separatists' words - listen to their plan....

The following are excerpts from the separatists' 'blue book' on the plan
for a 'sovereign' Quebec....
It is entitled "Quebec in a New World" (really! - a New World!)

                                  ________________

These are Parizeau's words:
"Thirty years ago, educational reform was the starting point of the Quiet
Revolution. But now we are facing the weaknesses of our education system:
a growing school dropout rate, functional illiteracy and the collapse of
vocational training at the secondary level.
After investing so much energy and money to ensure that education would be
accessible to all our young people, how can we explain such disappointing
results?"
_______________
(Karen): It couldn't have anything to do with the QUEBEC GOVERNMENT'S
administration of their school and language programs, could it?
_______________

Parizeau:
"Regional development policies gave rise to the hope that Quebec's regions
would become less dependent on natural resources, which were often too
quickly depleted, and better able to stem the RURAL EXODUS that had drained
them. The regions would be resurrected, it seemed, but it was not long
before disenchantment set in. Young people continued to leave, and unease
became increasingly widespread."
______________
(Karen): It couldn't have anything to do with the QUEBEC GOVERNMENT'S
administration of their natural resources and as a result "young peoples'
disenchantment" could it?
And no mention that these 'disenchanted young people' fled right out of the
province to the 'rest of Canada'.
______________

Parizeau:
"It is in this context that the executive council of the Parti Quebecois is
issuing this position paper. It has 3 sections....
The first explores the challenges that societies such as Quebec today cannot
escape.

The second presents what can be called, for want of a less presumtuous term,
a 'projet de societe' - a plan for the kind of society we would like to create.
This section makes clear that only in a SOVEREIGN Quebec will it be possible
to implement this plan."
________________
(Karen): Since his 'concession speech', I guess we all know what he means
by "the kind of society" they would like to "create".
________________
Parizeau:
"The third section seeks to explore one of the major discoveries of our time:
THAT A SMALL SOCIETY can prosper and develop AS LONG AS IT FORMS PART OF A
LARGE MARKET.
Economic association with the 'rest of Canada', in the context of an expanding
North American economic space, can be defined and articulated without com-
promising the goal of sovereignty."

_______________
(Karen): Isn't it interesting that Mr. Parizeau has termed Quebec society as
a "small society" but that he and Bouchard and other separatists before them
have demanded a 25% representation in the House of Commons - guaranteed - and
in perpetuity?
Isn't it also interesting that his "small society" should have VETO POWERS over
the constitutional decisions of a 'not-so-small society" - the rest of Canada?

Isn't it interesting that the ONLY HOPE for a 'separate' Quebec, is if the
'rest of Canada' agrees to do business as usual, extending its market and
economy just like before?

If anyone can see a clearer way to stop the separatists and 'sovereigntists'
than by voting NOT to have economic ties with an 'independent' Quebec, then
present it, by all means. Otherwise....

NO to any economic ties with a 'separate', 'sovereign', or 'independent'
Quebec.

Their plans just went all to hell.
