Your comment regarding lawyers not working on a contingency basis should
be clarified.  I presently have a lawyer engaged on contingency (25%
plus costs) and in Nova Scotia it appears to be a fairly standard means
of engaging Lawyers in non-criminal matters.  Usually a lawyer will meet
with the potential client to review the matter and decide at that point
if he/she will take the case on contingency.  I don't imagine any lawyer
would take on a "sure loss" on a contingency agreement.
