Namely economy. In a time where Women's Rights are a major concern, it should also be noted, but not generalized, that major corporations have experienced the need to downsize. This economic influence in it's early evolution put more males into the job seeker rosters. Your right, because males held the majority of these upper and middle management positions. Positions formerly lavishly compensated with perks, income, etc held by these males, could be downsized into postions of lesser salariy, less experience, reduced retraining, and even finance two or more lower management positions that would strengthen taxed resources. There were large numbers of unemployed males and increasing numbers of females educated with strategies of the day, not the old school standard. Women enabled themselves to compete, went head to head and began getting work and earning salaries influenced more by economy and cut the fat practices required of companies to stay competitive. The current economy or third wave influence or evolution of the leaner meaner evolution places women in all industry management positions upper and lower at competitive to larger salries than men. More and more women are out competing men because more women graduate from college than men, because remnants of the good' ol boys old school are still bouncing from job to job trying to fit in. They compete with educated women, often fail for lack of knowlege in new market efficiency and strategies, while younger males begin to spread into more diverse and non-traditional directions. Things are changing for women, and many are beginning to believe males and non-whites face the balnce of equality rushing away from them. Something like that. Alright I quit. Point is feminism marched loudly, was heard, accepted and in many cases enlightened companies with new and diferent aproaches to old problems. The biggest and most notible difference are the tight salaries that confuse both men and women when considering why they can't do better than thier parents or as they were taught they should. -- J.
