:Katy says that she is impressed when a man has a nice car or owns his :own :house. :She seems less interested in men who make other life choices. I never said that I don't take other things into account - in fact, I even said that I could easily find a man with roommates attractive. That's not neccesarily a turn-off. I simply said that I DO find it attractive when a man owns a nice car and his own home. Of course I don't expect a man to go into debt to obtain these things. Here in SF, renting is the norm and I wouldn't think there was anything wrong with that. I am a little less enthused about roommates (mostly because of privacy :-)) but I understand that if a guy has just moved or taken up a new career, that may be his only option. If I had said "It's a turn-on when a guy has dark hair and blue eyes" that wouldn't have meant that I don't also find brown-eyed blondes attractive. It would only mean that I dig dark hair and blue eyes. At my age (26) a lot of men are at a point where they're either becoming adults, or they're stuck in adolescence. I find that I have little patience for men who aren't mature, so I am impressed when I meet a man who obviously has some superficial signs of maturity and responsibility. However, as I said at least twice before, if I meet an interesting man who has a lot going for him, I'm not going to say "Oh, you ride the bus? Forget it!" I know that there are women who think a man is only worthwhile if he has a BMW or a certain income. I think those women are crazy and I'm not one of them. In fact, I'm likely to regard a man with a BMW as being potentially a jerk (no good reason for this, but I do.) When I said that I don't approve of men borrowing money, I wasn't talking about bank loans, I meant borrowing money from ME - which is an absolute no-no. Maybe I was associating with the wrong people, but that has happened to me. It gets ugly. So, don't get in such a snit - I wasn't talking about you. -katy
