Many people many approach learning another langauge as enjoyable rather
than just useful. I can easily imagine taking a foreign language in the
evening as a way to get a little intellectual activity in life. Its also
just nice to get out of the house a few evenings a week and do something
different and meet people. It does seem to me though that more women
will take evening classes for personal enjoyment than men. It was
pointed out to me when I said something like this before that women have
more free time than men. I don't believe this . Many women have
children to take care of, and yes can have jobs as demanding as men, and
yet they find the time. I personnally like to take classes when I'm busy
as a way to relax and give the brain something different to think about.
