Recently a mail-to-News gateway shut down more-or-less because an AOL user
complained when a critical message was dropped on the floor--a test
message to alt.lucky.w.

Is that what alt.lucky.w is for?  Virtual parties?  I read all forty posts.

When it isn't giving AOL chat a worldwide distribution, the newsgroup
appears to be for the sale of items from Metaphysical stores. 

For this, a mail-to-news gateway had to die?
