I have no idea how you leaped to the above conclusion, but you are way
wrong. The test-post was not sent to alt.lucky.w (or alt.sex.wizards, or
sci.archaeology, or alt.conspiracy.area-51, or alt.sex.hello-kitty, or
alt.thinking.hurts, or rec.arts.wobegon, or alt.magick.sex, or
news.answer, or alt.config, or any of the dozen other groups i frequent on
a semi-regular basis). In actual fact, it was sent to
alt.current-events.blizzard-of-93, which was holding a "virtual party" on
October 10th, 1995.
