I am a retired auto worker. I have watched my utilities hold steady here in Indiana. True they have risen a little. But my natural gas bill actually went down a few dollars a month thanks to new windows and maintenance on the "drafty" stuff. Last year I paid $53.oo a month and this year it is $49.00 a month. My electric bills hover at $100.00 a month. The ATT phone bill is the one that really gripes me. If I call home from a vacation spot out side Indiana the cost is about $15.oo for a three minute call. I was charged by four different companies including my ATT long distance service. I am really considering dropping all of ATT stuff and use my cell phone and buy a couple of prepaid long distance cards. For three digital cell phones, 400 minutes, I Pay only $49.00. My ATT bill this month is $70.oo. Our utilities are regulated by the state. I hope they stay that way. When the phone company was broken up and deregulated the bills went up and they still go up for every silly thing you can think of. On the subject of the President elect and the crook we now have till January 20th, those guys can not do anything without the Congress. For the past 30 years this country has been on the slippery slope of socialism, ( how do you spell communism?), and it has to stop. Our Congress needs to stop giving money and programs away to people who do not need them. From Corporate welfare, $200 million last year, to welfare for people who will not work. Congress also needs to stop giving money to foreign countries. Especially to the ones in the Middle East. If all their "blood" money were not available maybe the fighting would stop. Bring that money home and make our schools safer, teachers smarter, upgrade the schools technological base, and their skilled trades areas. It can be done if "everybody" would send letters to the Congress like to they do these news groups. Put the Constitution back to work in America!
