Interesting that "Roger" chose to cherry-pick what he wanted to "discredit" and
the manner in which he did it, conveniently ignoring anything and everything
else which did not agree with his agenda, like the effect of volcanic activity
on the atmosphere and climate, and the possibility that we are simply in a
long-running natural cycle on the upswing in global temperatures.

"Amazing", had our "friend" Roger bothered to take my advice and read any of the
other references to which I pointed instead of choosing to narrow-mindedly zero
in on just the one to which I referred, he would have at least achieved a
modicum of the enlightenment I suggested he would have attained and sound a hell
of a lot more intelligent than he imagines he is.

This is what I call "willful ignorance"; choosing, by an act of one's will, to
ignore opposing viewpoints simply because they do not jibe with what one
steadfastly holds to be true, even after being shown evidence, however flawed it
may or may not be, to the contrary. At least have the intellectual honesty
and/or integrity to listen to it before dismissing it out-of-hand, eh, "Roger"?

"Roger", there are scads more people than just these two - whom you chose to
vilify - who hold a similar opinion and are not under anyone's sway or the
influence of some industry's purse-strings. You are *so* intent on only
listening to one side of the argument when the true intellectual examines /all/
sides of an issue before making such a rash,
"don't-let-facts-get-in-the-way-of-the-truth" presumption. I happen to believe
that the actual answer to this whole "global warming" brouhaha lies somewhere
in-between; that it could very well be caused by a combination of these factors
(man-made and a hotter sun, plus a few more), and not just one or the other.
Fair enough?

"Guffy", thank you for being a voice of reason. Life is so much simpler when
one employs common sense, logic and rational thought instead of falling prey to
emotional hype, apparently to which "Roger" has fallen victim, as well as the
vast majority of the "the-sky-is-falling" global warming crowd.
