So, while the stories are being told to the public,
on the radio, on t.v., on the internet. While people
are talking to each other about what they're hearing.
While the news has been following the hurricane for
days before it struck and giving us details of it's
strength and where it was likely to hit.
While Condoleeza was shopping and going to plays,
people were watching t.v. listening to reports of
deaths at the overcrowded SuperDome, reports that
there was no air conditioning and no food or water,
and that there were elderly, sick, infirm and mothers
with children in there at over 100 degrees. None of
these important people, whom we all heard vow to spare
nothing to "Protect American Lives", didn't have a
clue, spoke to no one about what was going on, and had
nobody speak to them, even as their offices were being
inundated with calls offering aid.
And I heard yesterday how Bush answered Pelosi when
she asked him if he would fire Brown. He said "why
would I do that?" She said, "because of what went
wrong!" To which he replied, "nothing went wrong!"
How calloused can he get? If nothing went wrong,
then we can only conclude that he meant for those
things to happen! His remarks mean that he found what
happened, not just acceptable to him, but that it's
what he and his administration intended to happen in an
emergency. If so, then this man is a monster! That's
all there is to it.
