This is a really disgusting example of Compa$$ionate Con$ervative$
CleaningUP!

'About 7 a.m., the group was addressed by one of the drill sergeant-like
foremen, who said they were to march in a file to the work site, which
turned out to be the $800-million Beau Rivage casino, owned by MGM Mirage,
where they began clearing debris. During the lunch break, the workers were
given bologna sandwiches and a few Oreo cookies, Dalton and Tucker said.

Workers also were told their work days would be up to 16 hours long and then
they would be bused to a hotel two hours away, allowed to sleep four hours,
and then sent back to work.'

You probably think this because no mention was made of special help
for addicts or a tax hike so dear to democrat hearts.

What part of "integral to the local economy" don't you understand?
The casinos employ thousands of people and bring billions of dollars
to the Miss'ippi Gulf coast. I guess by your logic getting people
back to work isn't a priority...

Don't you think that the casinos could afford to pay for clean up? I
guess they couldn't pay their own employees to do this work?

Watch it Phil, it looks like there may be a little "Liberal" in you! LOL!

Actually, I agree with you here.

Its a disgrace that they got free labor from folks who wanted
help where it was needed most.

And they weren't allowed to quit or leave either. It was later called a
"mixup" likely only because the workers went public.

I guess by your "logic", companies earning billions
of dollars are unable to pay for clean up themselves?
Why should workers, who could be doing work for other
workers, helping them clean up their private houses,
where workers live, apartment buildings where workers
live and the like, be employed and managed by aiding
authorities, to perform low/no pay work for weathy
corporations unwilling to spend their insurance money
on same?

Do you have any clue? Please explain how this is
compassionate consevatism? Making the people, the poor
and the workers wait in line for help while aid is
distributed to weathy and powerful corporations that
should be taking care of themselves.

Well... For sure "On-the-Ball-Bush", will demand
that this company make substantial reimbursments and
awards to these mis-used/abused workers, and be
required to make a heavy financial contribution to the
community or face heavy fines! Oh... Wait... No,
Bush is asleep isn't he? Besides, unless someone
schedules a brilliant photo op, he has no interest in
getting involved. Actually, he's probably quite
besides himself that his plan to declare martial law
failed... THIS TIME!!!
