That may very well be, but you are still confusing the phone company
and whatever subsidiary it is, that put out the product. They have NOTHING
to do with eac other.

All to true, Jan. However, from our point of the (the average consumer) the
various entities of the USWest hegemony makes no attempt whatsoever, except
on the bills, to distinguish amongst the pieces. You, as an employee of a
single entity, may take great pride in your diverse group. However, as a former
marketing-type of two of the largest multi-nationals in the world, upper
management does NOT WANT the public to recognize the differences. They want
the public to have name recognition. That is why IBM become the largest
computer seller in the world - every secretary had an IBM typewriter on her
desk - the name recognition got the computer salesmen in the door and closed
the sale. You fight a losing battle as long as the name of the corporation/
holding company is US West. IMHO they made a serious mistake dropping the name
Mountain Bell.

Remember WHY the Mountain Bell name was dropped? Because upper management and the
PR types wanted an integrated, single-name recognition factor. If you don't
believe me, then call over to PR office and ask the manager.

Trust me - these two make US West look petty!
