I don;t know about the directory, but the product I'm working on, works
at anything (I think). I can dial into the Digipac network at at least
2400 baud, and I get 2400 baud videotex. Our HP runs the ports at 9600,
so I suppose you can get it at 9600 baud if the network has some entrypoint
at 9600.

Again, unless the emulators we use are specialized (dunno.. maybe),
it works just fine under a normal emulator. In any case the emulator you
would get from whoever you sign up with would work (obviously).

Since when is the internet cheap? Just because the gov. pays the bill
for universities, doesn't mean its cheap. How much do corporations throw in?
I don't have any figures but I know it's not cheap. Unless you are
proposing that it should be paid by companies and the gov and everybody
else should get it free (which I would like), the I-net is not cheap.
And I can't see the gov. or big companies paying mondo bucks, just so
that the average folk can use it. That's just not the way they think
(unless there is some profit to be made).

Well it is, if you consider that you can only get it in Universities
or companies (who pay lots of money) or can afford a private hookup.
Speaking of which.. What does C SuperNet charge? Just curiosity. It just
occured to me that I guess you could get a hookup from them, but that also
costs.
To other Articles:
Blanche: I was joking about the "up in arms". I know you guys can handle being
objective about this and other things (provided there's enough chocolate,
right? ;)
About posting a FAQ on US WEST, like I said, I'm no expert on the company
or how screwed up other depts are, I just know the one I'm working for and
it's not. Even people that work here say COMM and other places are screwed
up, and this dept. too, but not to that bad an extent as elsewhere.
To the guy whose name I forgot:
About posting info about EDS on the NET: I'm not even sure how much I can
talk about, since this is still an unreleased product, to be released, I think,
next month or so. So instead of me posting stuff you don't believe anyway,
why don't you wait until it's released, test it (I wonder if they're
going to offer free test-trials.. I would hope so), and then flame away.
I'm sure since you are so negative anyway, you will approach it trying
to find all the negative points, so I won't be surprised to hear negative
things when (if) you test it.
So much for that.
