UNIX Users Association of Southern California
                                October Meeting

                      ----------------------------------
                       Corollary Profusion Architecture
                      ----------------------------------

                          Monday, October 14, 7-9 pm
                                 Corollary Inc
                              2802 Kelvin, Irvine
(one block north of Jamboree and Main)

Check out the UUASC Web site at http://www.uuasc.org/~uuasc!

The Intel Pentium Pro processor includes built-in support for four-
processor configurations but no way to use more than four on one bus.
Corollary investigated several hardware block diagram approaches
to breaking this barrier. Recently they announced the Profusion
architecture, a way to use up to eight processors while maintaining
full compatibility with Intel standards. Thus any UNIX operating system
which provides Intel standard multi-processing can take advantage of
Corollary Profusion.

At the UUASC October meeting, George White, co-founder and President
of Corollary, will present the technical problem, the two rejected
block diagrams, and, finally, Corollary's Profusion architecture and
plans. George will also probably tell us a bit about the history of
Corollary and how the company has led the Intel multi-processor field
for years. Corollary hosts the UUASC meetings and this is a good
opportunity to express our appreciation directly to George.

The UUASC is for all persons using UNIX either personally or
professionally, or interested in learning more about UNIX. We recognize
all varieties of UNIX, including (without prejudice) SCO, Linux, SVr4,
Solaris, AIX, and BSD. This is a good place to meet others with similar
interests and broaden your skills and knowledge. Generally, meetings
include a technical presentation on a hardware or software topic of
current interest to the UNIX community and a round-table discussion
of current topics of interest to the group. We are always looking for
interesting presentations and your suggestions are most welcome.

Coming on November 11th: Sun Microsystems.

Please join us this month and bring along your friends and co-
workers. Also, please forward this announcement to others who may
be interested and feel free to post it on BBSs, both electronic and
physical. If you receive more than one announcement by email, please
let us know so we can keep our lists current. Thanks for listening.
