UNIX Users Association of Southern California
                                August Meeting

                         ----------------------------
                          Installing LUG/nut 4 Linux
                         ----------------------------

                           Monday, August 12, 7-9 pm
                                 Corollary Inc
                              2802 Kelvin, Irvine
(one block north of Jamboree and Main)

SSC has made available a new edition of their LUG/nut CDROM. This is a
complete Linux distribution, including Red Hat 3.03, available only
through UNIX user groups like the UUASC (for $6.50 including shipping).
Several members have ordered copies but a few extras will be available
at the meeting. We have also received an evaluation copy of the Pacific
HiTech Linux Developers Kit, ten CDROMs, and it will be available at the
meeting for discussion.

At our August meeting, we will demonstrate installing RedHat 3.03 using
the LUG/nut CDROM. We may have time to do it, or parts of it, more than
once, so bring your questions and concerns and we'll try to find answers.
Or bring your own systems and do your own installation while others are
nearby to help you over any problems. (If you do want to bring a machine,
please reply by email to insure sufficient space and power.)

The UUASC is for all persons using UNIX either personally or professionally,
or interested in learning more about UNIX. We recognize all varieties of
UNIX, including (without prejudice) SCO, Linux, SVr4, Solaris, AIX, and OSF.
This is a good place to meet others with similar interests and broaden your
skills and knowledge. Generally, meetings include a technical presentation
on a hardware or software topic of current interest to the UNIX community
and a round-table discussion of current topics of interest to the group.
We are always looking for interesting presentations and your suggestions
are most welcome.

Please join us this month and bring along your friends or co-workers. Also,
please forward this announcement to others who may be interested and feel
free to post it on BBSs, both electronic and physical. If you receive more
than one announcement by email, please let us know so we can keep our lists
current. Thanks for listening.
