}So because someone might be irresponsible under the influence, we should
}ban the substance. Same goes for alcohol, guns, pain medication, etc.

You forgot religion. Gambling. Political power... Let's face it: If
somebody can name something, then somebody else will be able to name a way
to abuse it. It's an uncomfortable fact of life.

}And pot comes in many forms and potencies. Nothing makes food taste better
}than pot IMO.

I, personally, find that MSG works quite nicely.

} Alcohol is responsible for thousands of deaths and accidents every year.
}Pot is responsible for none.

Ahem. Pot does cause a degradation of response time. This is a known fact.
(Doubt it? The next time you go to a party test the high people with some
fast games that require coordination: air hockey, video games, or involved
dance steps. BTW, it helps if you're sober whilst doing this. Refer to
the Heinikin Uncertainty Principle if you've any questions as to why.)

People die because they're driving and are surprised by the sudden
appearance of objects. Others die because they don't notice the car on
the road. (It works both ways. <g>)

}Pot isn't.

Psychological addiction can come from anything. Sometimes the addiction
is a perception of need. Sometimes the addictions are akin to a "need for
a lack of something". (Such as a need of a lack of germs. Sometimes the
better term is "compulsion".)

Some people need pot. Others "need" to erradicate it. Which is the
worse? I wonder...

}You can die from an alcohol overdose.
}It's impossible to OD on pot.

}Being stoned is linked to Cap'n Crunch.

<perplexed look> I'm not going to ask.

And the Thought of the Moment (tm) is...

Feminism is the radical notion that women are people; Humanism is the
notion that all people are human. Replace the Golden Rule with Empathy --
feel what other people feel in response to your actions.
