NOTE:  I've read the banned trilogy, and I thought they were beautifully
written, I can't imagine why the library would pull them off the shelves.
The novels are erotic, but very tastefully written.

Subject: Anne Rice Books Banned from Ohio Library

Anne Rice's _Sleeping Beauty_ trilogy has been banned from the
Columbus (Ohio) Metropolitan Library after _one_ person complained
about the books.  Last month, one library patron filled out a complaint
card.  A few days later, the library administration reviewed the
material and decided to pull the books from circulation.  Their
reasoning: "The Columbus Metropolitan Library does not buy
pornographic material."

Columbus public libraries are the first in the U.S. to pull these
works of Rice.   Over eleven million items were circulated through
the Columbus Metropolitan Library system last year - it's a very
popular system - but it no longer carries the Beauty series on its
shelves.  They originally obtained the books (and the audio tapes)
in 1993.

The three books in the series, _The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty_,
_Beauty's Punishment_, and _Beauty's Release_, were originally
published under the pseudonym of A. N. Roquelaure.  Before the third
book came out, Rice admitted that she was Roquelaure.
