Migod, I missed the first part of this thread, as the spool ate it before I
got back home. Damn. I worked as a volunteer at the radio shack at this
concert, I believe. Wasn't there another concert, held somewhere else near
Portland? Something Bullfrog? Migod, that was a LONG time ago. 8-)
And of course, when you talk about the sixties and seventies in Portland, one
has to remember the Agora Coffeehouse across from the Portland State Campus in
what used to be the Campus Christian Center <?>. Father Kieren Healey and
Father Joe Dubay actually were in charge of the place, but they gave a free
hand to some of the underground, and occasionally really good musicians would
drop by, either on their way up or way down, depending upon your perspective,
of course. ;-]
I often reminisce about those days and wonder if any of the truly good folk
singers from the Agora ever went any further. Jon Adams, for example, took a
motley collection of school buses, a VW microbus and some other vintage
rolling stock and did a cross-country tour back then and actually _survived_
to return to a raucous homecoming.
RC> Yeah, and that's the first place John Mellencamp (Cougar at the time)

That's correct. There was a tall, bearded guy named Dale Walker who, it
seemed, always knew how to get seats for such events, and I've always wondered
what happened to him or where he ended up.

Where?
