One such dance/concert hall I can remember from back there was Springer's Ballroom out on S.E. Richey Rd., sorta Pleasant Valley area, remember? 190th & Powell, go south toward Foster Rd... Saw some really good bands out there (Chicago is one, Canned Heat is another). They turned it into a dang flea market, then there was a fire... <sigh>. I grew up in the Centennial area (Class of '72), and while there were a few decent groups that played the D-Street Corral, I remember it mostly as a rowdy spot, with most of the partying going on in the parking lot. Not really my kinda place...but Springers...that was hip! TS
