Do you really? Hmm...

Sure.

Then why wasn't I able to hear half of what the panel was trying to say
because of the mobs' "right to free speach"? In other words, you defend
people right to speak, just not being able to be heard! It's one thing
to be able to interrogate the panelists, it is another to act like
a foolish mob of raving lunatics which 1) made it impossible for
viewers to intellectually digest the debate and 2) fed right into
Saddam's propoganda machine.

You know, it's funny that everyone complains how this was a "staged
media event"
(which it was - so what) and how "THEY are trying to squelch our right
to free speech", while at the same time, this mob (and the same people
at
Minnesota) did precisely the same thing.

But I guess it's OK after you have been drinking coffee all day.

Indeed.

Garrett,

Ever read up on the constitution or writings of Jefferson, Paine,
Mason, Madison, Washington, Franklin and on and on? Do so. It will
open your eyes to the purpose of founding a nation and writing a
constitution. Dissent, even LOUD dissent, is protected speech. The
most foul and disagreeable speech is the speech that deserves the most
protection and guarantees. Even the Supreme Court has said so many
times.

U.S. SUPREME COURT:
"Regulations which permit the Government to discriminate
on the basis of the
content of the message cannot be tolerated under the
First Amendment."
"[T]he fact that society may find speech offensive is
not a sufficient reason
for suppressing it. Indeed, if it is the speaker's
opinion that gives
offense, that consequence is a reason for according
it constitutional
                                           protection."
"If there is a bedrock principle underlying the First
Amendment, it is that
the Government may not prohibit the expression of an
idea simply because
society finds the idea itself offensive or
disagreeable."
Excerpts from the Opinion of the U.S. Supreme
Court

                                      "So go fuck yourselves."
Excerpt from 'Angsto, the man and the
myth'

Any public figure can and must be held up to ridicule and abuse,
especially those pinheads who attempt to sway public opinion with shady
deals and pictures of dead women and children! As for old Saddam's
propaganda machine, what planet do you live on? Saddam doesn't need one
nor does he have one. Puhleeze! Our fearless leaders do quite well
blowing it out their asses all by themselves without the help of some
imaginary middle eastern disinformation network.

Who needs disinformation? One only needs to subscribe to someone like
Iwaynet's newsfeeds. They suck so bad I didn't get this note there but
through Dejanews! Real information is lost through poor technology and
negligence.

I have a grasp of the nature of the constitution and its bill of
rights. Read them and weep.

Well said. I applaud your speaking out what I'm sure echoes the feelings of
many silent followers in this newsgroup.
