Wouldn't it be nice to hear Elgin >[Computer's] story !! >Hello Elgin [Computers]....are you there!! I support your call to Elgin Computers to explain their position, and specifically: - Are Scott Wiper's allegations concerning the defective product true or false? - When Scott posted his story on the Internet, why did Elgin Computers choose to "call in the lawyers", rather than try to settle the issue by negotiation? - Why has it taken so long for Elgin Computers to post their position on the Internet, a 15-minute job? - Does Elgin Computers confirm the information from the Better Business Bureau, according to which a complaint had been filed with them, even though Elgin Computers has just been in business a short time? I note that rather than post a simple response, Elgin Computers chose to leak a private letter they received from Scott Wiper; his letter contained gratuitous insults. Even though the letter was private, I condemned the text without qualification the minute I read the article that revealed its contents. No sooner did I post my condemnation, when Scott Wiper published an apology, explaining that he wrote the text out of frustration and anger. This does not justify the text, but at least Scott took the honourable step of apologizing. Not so Elgin Computers: they ignore us as though we are not worthy of being addressed. This is another point that potential customers should bear in mind. Elgin Computers, may we please read your response? JAN
