Anyways.... : I went to buy a computer magazine at Novo Club in Merivale mall. I pulled : out my Visa for the $6 impending charge as I had no cash on me. The clerk : informed me that it was store policy to not allow credit purchases under : $15. I asked to speak to the manager. I got the owner, who was sitting : at a near-by table reading a paper. I asked if he was aware that it was : against his credit agreement with Visa to have a minimum floor charge on : credit purchases. He did not even bother to look up from the paper he was : reading and said that it was store policy, in a take it or leave it kind of : a voice. I left and will not shop in a store like NOVO CLUB again, where : customer service is completely disregarded, and rudeness is the norm at : the executive level. If you feel that he was violating his credit agreement with Visa then you should call Visa customer service. I once had a store in an airport try and tell me I needed ID to use an American Express Travellers Cheque to pay for whatever it was I was buying. This is very much against AMEX policy because there is no way the Travellers Cheque will not be honoured, assuming that the counter-signatures match. I called up AMEX from a payphone in the airport because I was stuck there due to a weather delay and had a nice chat with AMEX customer support. They followed up by informing the store that AMEX customers were not to be asked for ID when using Travellers Cheques, sent them a bunch of instruction kits for their employees and sent me a follow-up letter apologizing for the inconvenience and telling me what had been done about it. You should call Visa and complain. --G -- Gordon Dewis | WWW Virtual Library Geography Section is now at: 4th year Geography Hons | http://www.icomos.org/WWW_VL_Geography.html Carleton University | NewForce.ca Sysadmin http://www.newforce.ca
