I have followed the same practice and found the same thing.

Puts a waste at my end too - the mail still has to come to my site in order
to be ignored. Better if it never left the originator, no? Our data pipes
are only so big, and we really don't want them clogged with unsolicited
e-mail, so stopping the stuff at the source is of paramount importance.
Like, say a site has 5000 users, each of which gets a copy of the same 10k
junk mailing. That's 50MB down the pipe and spinning on the platters all
for naught.

Add to this the apparent intention of Industry Canada to impose a bit tax,
and where do we end up? I will never pay for the junk mail I don't want to
get, so stopping the junk at the source is the only real way ...

Hey, I could write a script that mailed every item in the news spool as a
separate mail - that would really fuck someone up wouldn't it?
