Education of how wrong their actions are is probably a more : appropriate response. I, myself, tend to send the mail back to the junk mailer as well as root, postmaster and abuse at the same site. I do this the first time the junk e-mail arrives. Usually the junk e-mailer never mails back. One ISP in particular has multiple junk e-mailers that are making me think that why not just ignore all e-mail from that service. There are other ISP's as well as companies that specialize in junk e-mail - all of which could be ignored. : Most of the time the offender is the client of the ISP, not the ISP. To punish : the ISP and 'shut down their servers' is not appropriate behavior on the Net : anymore than junk email is. : Rob. : -- : Rob Hall voice (613) 225-5595 : President fax (613) 225-9436 : Internet Access Inc. info info@ottawa.net : a division of Hookup Communications. www http://www.ottawa.net/ : rob@ottawa.net 24hr Support 1-888-742-HELP This method of ignoring all mail from an ISP or a client of an ISP (company) would put the waste on the sender's end. It would also get ISP's and companies to take action on the junk e-mail. Would an ISP want to be labeled as a place for junk e-mailers? Would an ISP want mail from their places ignored? For both questions: probably not. Kirk Brown
