Guys, Having had a close look at the messages in "ozemail.users", "aus.general" and "aus.politics", it would seem there is a real reason for proposing the creation of a new group. There are far too many posts in both groups for them not to deserve a place of their own - where people can discuss the major issue that concerns them without clogging up the main groups. The proposed name of the group would be: aus.flame.roddles In this group all of us who have been abused, insulted, and generally irritated by Rod Speed can flame away at him to our hearts content. If any of those potential participants feel it would be pointless 'flaming' someone in a specific group because of the absence of the person being flamed I can set your minds at rest. Rod Speed is INCAPABLE of allowing someone to have the last word in an argument regardless of how abysmally wrong he is, or how many facts are put up to demolish his arguments - so he will almost certainly follow us there, thus allowing more 'normal' users to continue on with their web lives without his helpful little comments. As this is a first step, I'd appreciate some feedback before we 'take it further'. -- Chris (Keeping the dream alive) NSW ---------------------------------- The difference between a duck is that one of its legs are both the same. ----------------------------------

And u say that u don't instigate the problems. Why don't we just create a group for the three of U (i.e Rod, Chris and to a lesser extent Josh B). All I ever see u people post are the exact opposite of what Rod post whether he may be right or not (I'm not saying that Rod is always correct) but from what I can see u have taken it upon yourself to disagree with him just for the fact that you see a post from him. I have to say that Rod need to calm down a bit but but he isn't the only one who is causing the flaming war, u are contibuting to it as much as he is, if not more. Take a leaf out of Steve's book if u don't like what he posts ignore him unless he does a personal attack which I haven't seen him do untill u instigated it first. KrilliC, > And u say that u don't instigate the problems. Just opeining a door to get us all out of the group! There's not point in clogging up the works with "mindless botting" as our troubled friend would put it. > Why don't we just create a group for the three of U (i.e Rod, Chris and to a > lesser extent Josh B). Actually Rod and I have agreed on several points in the past. But on others not. It's the 'nots' that are the problem, and the way his arguments (for want of a more accurate term) are put that irritates the hell out of me and many, many, many people. This iritation with Rod has led to the establishment of .web pages dedicated to him and his unique style of debate. He's even won the "Net.Kook of the Year" award - these aren't my sites - they're run by people who have been driven SO mad by him they felt this was the only way to get their own back! As for Josh, if you actually look at the Josh/Rod interactions you'll find they are almost ALL initiated by Rod. Josh makes a comment and Rod jumps down his throat. > Take a leaf out of Steve's book if u don't like what he posts ignore him > unless he does a personal attack which I haven't seen him do untill u > instigated it first. There is a very old saying which I've always kept in mind - partly becasue of my origins. It runs: "The British are a tolerant race but vicious when provoked". I've had a LOT of provocation, turned the other cheek MANY times and got that slapped as well. This is just a means of getting us all out of the groups. No 'flame' intended - as such. I know you mean well, but until he's had REAL go at you you won't understand fully why otherwise reasonable people find it necessary to behave like we do. By the way - Rod CAN'T 'calm down'. When I said he's physocally incapable of leting someone else get the last word I meant it. Have you followed any of his threads? If you do you'll see what I mean. Trust me - would I lie to you??? :)) -- Chris (Keeping the dream alive) NSW ---------------------------------- The difference between a duck is that one of its legs are both the same. ----------------------------------

well all I can say is just post your post whether they are replies to Rod or not but just make your posts sound sensible and if Rod or whoever doesn't like it and starts a personal attack on u then personally I wouldn't hold back. It has happened to me and guess who won the battle. You should take the attitude that if someone F***s with u then don't take a step back, although I haven't seen recently Rods' posts for anyone take such action so at present I would just ignore it until he or someone does. Josh makes > a comment and Rod jumps down his throat. I cant make up my mind if you really do believe this sort of thing or if you know damned well its a lie and claim it anyway. You're clearly too stupid to be able to grasp that anyone can scan the newsgroup and check for themselves if its true or not. And clearly even stupider if you cant grasp how you look when they do. Ditto with your mindlessly silly claim that I respond to every single post of Josh's with a particular response I do use on ocassion. Still, you're always welcome to blow your own feet right off so spectacularly. > There is a very old saying which I've always kept > in mind - partly becasue of my origins. It runs: > "The British are a tolerant race but vicious when provoked". You aint british, you're welsh, and it was the welsh that managed the most pathetic response to the Normans and got stamped into the ground. Even the Irish managed to be a hell of a lot more vicious than you lot. Rest of what can only be your deliberate dishonesty flushed.
