A horrible sad story follows. The kitten in question is located in
East Palistine, Ohio, about 1 hour NW of Pittsburgh, just on the other
side of the PA-OH border.

[Msg Begins]

Do you know anyone in Pittsburgh who might be interested in a 4 month
old calico kitten?

A new neighbor has moved into the alley behind our apartment and we
suspect that he has been poisoning Brenda's cats - Callie's (that's
the kitten) mother and brother both disappeared two nights ago and
Callie has been terrified ever since. Callie is super sweet and loves
to be petted - she's also very healthy and just needs to be deflea'ed
and dewormed. If anyone is interested, I will pay for her first set of
shots. Of the 12 adult cats that were around when you were here last,
2 are left; of the 3 new kittens, Callie is the only survivor. I can't
prove the neighbor is killing the cats, but he has basically admitted
it. Bruce and I would take her if we could, but obviously we can't
[They have 5 cats, 4 fish tanks, an Iguana, and 2 birds. already!]

So anyway, if you could ask around or maybe post a note on the net,
I'd appreciate it. Bruce is off to his VASC retreat or I'd have him do
it. Thanks a bundle - I'm spreading the word around here, but I think
you and Evelyn know more people out there than I do here.

Thanks again... Jill
