There have been quite a few posts about GE lately. Most of them complaining
about GE, high-pressure sales, and the price.

I tried GE about 3 or 4 years ago. I found their presentation complete,
professional, and pleasant. I did not feel pressured in any way. When I asked
for prices I was given a price list which included three plans --

Short term (I think it was about 3 months) ----- a few hundred dollars (I
think it was $350)

One year -- about $2000

Lifetime membership -- about $3500 as I remember (I am not sure of this)

I imagine you can call GE and get the current price list. It is not a secret
and it is not different for different people. That's against the law.

I signed up for the short term, met several nice women, turned down a few and
was turned down by a few. I found the selection of possible matches to be
adequate. The service was always pleasant and professional. Generally I was
satisfied.

To those who feel that high-pressure sales techniques were used (at GE or
anywhere else), I would suggest that you learn to walk away when you get that
feeling. It appears that you felt pressured, you stayed anyway, bought the
service, signed the contract, paid your money, and now you want to blame
someone else for your decision. You might want to consider taking
responsibility for yourself instead of blaming and complaining so much.

OTOH, if you feel the service was misrepresented -- that someone lied to you,
you can get your money back. Go to Small Claims Court and sue. It costs very
little money (about $35) and if you are correct, you get your money back plus
court costs. Of course, if you were not misled, you will get nowhere in court.

I know that some businesses occasionally cheat people, but IME most businesses
provide an honest service that people want and pay willingly for. I believe GE
is a good company and I found their service good. When you are dissatisfied,
you should complain to someone who can do something about it -- like to
company involved -- rather than bad-mouthing them behind their back. I suspect
that, for some folks, it's just more fun to complain than to get the situation
resolved.

As Ed Quinn says, "That's my opinion. What's yours?"
