Cross posting relcom.comp.gis, swnet.infosystems.gis, and bit.listserv.uigis-l While 'trawlling' through the Usenet listings I have come across the groups noted above - and because of my interest in GIS I thought I'd subscribe - however in the 5 or so days I've downloaded news I've only seen a couple of articles (with complete contrast to comp.infosystems.gis). Can someone point me to the FAQ or the type of articles these group generates ? Thanks in advance, _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ Trevor Foale Voice : 44 (0)1372 726140 GIS Specialist Fax : 44 (0)1372 740055 Atkins Wootton Jeffreys E-Mail : trevor@garage.demon.co.uk _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ Views expressed are my own and not necessarily those of my employer.

Unfortunately there is a very low volume of mail in this group. I think that many people are unaware of the importance of a good working user interface and therefore don't bother to look for information about it. I am currently working on a Space Planning Interface on a GIS. My experience is that when looking for information on user interfaces etc. the fields related to cognitive science are much more useful than the GIS related fields. (people dealing with GIS seem much more to be involved in gathering and analysing data, NOT how to communicate the results to another (end) user..:-) Robert Kuunders trevor@garage.demon.co.uk (Trevor Foale) wrote: >Cross posting relcom.comp.gis, swnet.infosystems.gis, and >bit.listserv.uigis-l >While 'trawlling' through the Usenet listings I have come across the >groups noted above - and because of my interest in GIS I thought I'd >subscribe - however in the 5 or so days I've downloaded news I've only >seen a couple of articles (with complete contrast to >comp.infosystems.gis). >Can someone point me to the FAQ or the type of articles these group >generates ? >Thanks in advance, >_/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ >Trevor Foale Voice : 44 (0)1372 726140 >GIS Specialist Fax : 44 (0)1372 740055 >Atkins Wootton Jeffreys E-Mail : trevor@garage.demon.co.uk >_/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ >Views expressed are my own and not necessarily those of my employer.
