I am on Section 8 housing relief, as are 43 others in the apt complex in which I live. I am disabled and elderly both, but I am not a drug addict, a migrant worker, or a nigra. Neither is anyone else in this complex. I submit that those who fit the first two categories you mention are not those who'll be affected by a loss of these subsidies. I CANNOT work. I've tried, and it is impossible. I can move around sufficiently that I am able to live independently, but there is NO WAY I can afford to live without the HUD rent subsidy.
