ok, Michael, I have been to L.A. a number of times, and I can see
it has problems. However, I do not see how any of those problems
could be rationally attributed to immigration. (I can see that the
xenophobic mind can attribute any problem to immigration, though
your point of view is probably not xenophobic.) So instead of
leaving me to guess what your reasoning is, how about if you just
state your reasoning?

I live in San Francisco. It would not surprise me if an accurate
count were to find that fully half the populace were illegal people.
Every day, I walk right through Chinatown on my way to and from
work, and many people there clearly have come from other countries,
and I do not understand much of the language in that neighborhood.
Also I do not understand "What is it about foreigners that so
panics Michael Adams?" Seriously, what is it you are so worried
about?

How do you know that people are fleeing immigrants? Might the
people who left have found better jobs elsewhere? Might they
have moved for reasons other than jobs? Do you ask them why they
left, or have you just presumed that you know?
