I recently stumbled across some flowers in the Botany Bay National Park at La Perouse Sydney: http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=871744&size=lg I have not seen them before and they seemed very localised. Would some one be able to identify them for me or direct me to a more appropriate newsgroup/mailing list ? Also, are they native or introduced ? Thanks .. Exotic, escaped from gardens, spreads like mad, b****y nuisance. WEED! Sorry. Cheers Roger Caffin

Actually the plant is Bryophyllum delagoense (syn. B.tubiflorum) not B.pinnatum. Note the maculate terete leaves with plantlets at the leaf tips. There are several viviparous Bryophyllum species and hybrids that have become naturalized in tropical parts of Australia and other parts of the world.
