I recently was told by the publisher that they have sent their Common Names of Amphibians and Reptiles of the World to the printer and it will be out within the next 6 weeks or so. This project lists the common (English) name and scientific name of more than 10,000 amphibians and reptiles in systematic order (e.g. Class, Order, Family etc). Subspecies for U.S. forms only will be included. Many systematists were consulted to complete this project. The publication was delayed by the sheer magnitude of this undertaking. Readers interested in ordering info (price is only 19.95+p&p) and further details can e-mail the publisher at eramus@ricnet.pottsville.com or check our web page (http://www.xmission.com/~gastown/herpmed/) and then click on Reptile and Amphibian Magazine in the index and then onto "Books" on their homepage.
