Try bionet.info-theory, for starters.  This kind of thing is discussed
quite a bit there.  Also, look at
Science 266:1021-4, "Molecular computation of solutions to
combinatorial problems," by Leonard Adleman.
That's probably the experiment you heard about on the radio.
